About

If you’re curious about how to fit gardening into your life while holding down a day job, and you low-key listen to podcasts about witches and true crime at said day job, then you’ll feel right at home here.

At Offbeet Gardener, you can expect about one post about every two weeks to help you work on your raised bed or container home garden. You’ll also see how-to guides for DIY projects and “punk rock plant stories,” where I do a deeper dive into the cultural and political role of plants and the people who work with them. Ever heard of the men who died defending seeds during the siege of Leningrad? That’s what I’m talking about.

Got a question or an idea for a gardening or plant topic you’d like to see covered? Let me know! Shoot me an email at offbeetgardener@gmail.com.

Offline, I’m often asked for advice or help when it comes to gardening. Offbeet Gardener feels like the best way I can share all that I’ve learned over the last five years that I’ve grown as a gardener, and where I can dig more in the weeds on topics like gardening in the age of climate change.

Between the hours of 9 to 5, I work at as a nonprofit admin. After hours, I can be found watching reruns of The Magicians and old Top Gear at home.
